U-Nut Retainers

U-Nut Retainers provide simple, rapid attachment of mating panels by combining the strength of a nut with the flexibility of a spring steel cage. U-Nut Retainers slide easily into panel position, and provide a strong fastening solution when combined with a machine screw. They are self-retaining and will not turn when the screw is driven. Similar to J-Nut Retainers, U-Nut Retainers are used when the full bearing surface on the lower leg is required.

U-Nut Retainers maintain constant alignment with an extrusion on the lower leg. Button-hooked into center panels or pressed over flanges, they retain themselves with “mechanical hands” formed from the spring steel retainer and are held securely under live spring tension. U-Nut Retainers are easily applied by hand or with simple tools.
