A Raymond Tinnerman Product Release

Advance introduces the unique and versatile Tube and Tie Strap Swivel Clip product family from A Raymond Tinnerman. The combination of a Tie Strap and Tube component creates a quicker and more efficient means of assembling wire/cable bundles to a conduit or tube.

In addition, the tie strap product line offers several value-added panel retention features that allow for installations across a wide range of hole/panel variations that can save installation time and provide part number consolidation.

Advance Training Camp 2011

Advance Components which recently held a three-day product and application training session at its Carrollton headquarters.

The Advance sales team, territory sales reps, management and distribution crew were offered presentations and hands-on workshops given by representatives from AR Tinnerman, AVK, Heyco, Johnson & Hoffman, Richco and TRW.

Advance supports the Souper Bowl

The Advance team rallied to support the Souper Bowl of Caring in celebration of the Super Bowl being held in Dallas this year. The Souper Bowl of Caring mobilizes youth groups to collect money and cans for hunger relief organizations in their local communities. Participants can donate via the web, by buying bags of groceries at participating markets, or by starting your own group and collecting cans and money. Dave Audia Appointed Vice President of Sales & Business Development

Advance makes donation to scholarship program

Advance Components recently donated $1,000 to the National Fastener Distributor’s Association Memorial Scholarship Program in memory of Doug Berry, the company’s founder. Children and employees of an NFDA member firm are eligible to receive support from the program, which awarded nearly $30,000 in scholarships last year. Advance is the distributor's source for specialty fasteners, stocking high-quality products from A Raymond Tinnerman, AVK, Heyco, and others.

New Warehouse/Office Space

After 35 years at its original location, Advance Components has relocated to its new, state-of-the-art office and warehouse. The 65,000-square foot facility includes 13 loading docks, climate-controlled areas for shipping, receiving, and storage. This extra space adds up to big bonuses for Advance customers: more inventory, top efficiency and expedited orders. The new location is closer to DFW Airport and zoned as an International Freeport, which allows Advance to import fasteners duty-free.

Fastenal names Advance Components 2007 Supplier of the Year

At the annual Industrial and Construction Expo in Orlando, Florida, December 2007, Fastenal awarded Advance Components the 2007 Supplier of Year Award, Supplier Scorecard Class 7. This honor was awarded to the top performer in each of the 10 supplier scorecard categories. The Fastenal supplier scorecard averages various functions each supplier performs, including daily sales growth, inventory turns, program involvement, product development and sales events. Fastenal stores vote for the best supplier in each class.

Promotion of Michael Baughman to Vice President

Advance announces the promotion of Michael Baughman to Vice President Procurement and Logistics. In addition to managing the procurement of all stock, Michael will also oversee material management, including warehousing and distribution.

Advance has expanded its bagging operation to include two complete counting/weighing bagging systems, allowing us to conduct all of our bagging in-house while offering a wider range of bag-size options. New Faces and Changes in the Office

Eric Zelezny, who has been with Advance for four years, joins the inside sales team and will cover Maine, Louisiana, North Dakota and Canada.

Terri House takes on the title of Vice President Sales and Business Development. Terri will continue to manage the inside sales team and develop new business. Executive Vice President Gary Cravens is now Advance’s General Manager. He will oversee the outside sales team. Advance’s Purchasing Manager Michael Baughman becomes the Director Purchasing, Inventory Control & Distribution.
