Solar Panel Installation Rivet Drivers

Mar 1, 2024 | Tools, Uncategorized

When it comes to efficiently installing rivets on solar panel arrays, portable and reliable Gage Bilt hydraulic rivet drivers are the best hydraulic rivets tools for solar panels. Gage Bilt tools are more compatible than other solar panel installation rivet drivers, and more affordable. The ergonomic design makes them easy to use

Hydraulic blind rivet tools use fluid pressure to generate a tremendous amount of force to pull the stem and set the rivet. They allow installing blind rivets in tight spaces where other tools won’t fit.

The Gage Bilt Advantage

  • Gage Bilt offers powered hydraulic riveters suitable for use in the field  or in the shop. This includes models like the GB20SF and the GB2624PTD.
  • Gage Bilt tools are sturdy and provide the pulling force necessary to set most types of blind rivets used on solar array frameworks. This includes various aluminum, steel, and stainless steel rivets.
  • Gage Bilt hydraulic tools have long, angled noses that allow easy access into tight spaces to install blind rivets on the backside of solar panel assemblies.
  • Many Gage Bilt models are compact and lightweight for extended comfortable use installing hundreds of rivets across large solar farms.
  • The tools have replaceable jaws/noses to accommodate multiple rivet diameters like 3/16 up to 1/4 inches commonly used on solar hardware.
  • Gage Bilt GB20SF and GB2624PTD tools are compatible with HUCK® power units, and BobTail® and BOM® fasteners.

Gage Bilt GB20SF

The GB20SF is a hydraulic rivet driver that efficiently installs ½”, ⅝”, 12mm, 14mm and 16mm diameter BobTail® fasteners on solar panels. It weighs 11 lbs. and can be operated in any position which makes it great for field work.

GB20SF rivet tools are powered by GB947 power units, but can be powered with HUCK® power units as well. It has a rivet stroke and maximum rated pull load of 20,650 lbs. at 7,000 psi. The GB20SF comes equipped with 2 feet of hydraulic hoses, couplings, electric switch and cord. Power units and nose assemblies are sold separately.

Gage Bilt GB2624PTD

The GB2624PTD hydraulic rivet driver is designed to install ½” BOM® fasteners. It weighs around 15 lbs., and can be operated in any position with one hand which makes it ideal for solar panel installations.

It is powered by the Gage Bilt GB947 power unit, with a maximum pull pressure set at 7,400 psi, and a maximum return pressure set at 3,200 psi. The power unit and nose assemblies are sold separately, but the GB2624PTD comes equipped with 2 feet of hydraulic hoses, couplings, electric switch and cord. It is also compatible with HUCK® power units.
